Early Goryeo civil official who took part in compiling the Haedong Birok

Bak Seung-jung (d. 1128), a great-grandson of merit subject Bak Seom, was a Goryeo official who rose to senior posts including vice-premier under King Yejong. In 1106 he took part in compiling the geomantic text Haedong Birok alongside scholars such as Kim In-jon and Choe Seon, and also contributed to the historical annals of Yejong's reign.
Having attached himself to the powerful in-law Yi Ja-gyeom, Bak was impeached and exiled to Uljin after Yi's downfall in 1126, and later died after being moved to his home region of Muan.
