Life & career

Park Seung-jung (朴昇中, ?-1128) was a civil official of the early Goryeo period, with the courtesy name Jacheon (子千). His clan lineage was Muan.

After serving as Jeongdang Munhak and Panhallimwonsa, he rose to Chamji Jeongsa and Jungseo Sirang Pyeongjangsa. He took part in the compilation of the Haedong Birok, which organized geomantic (eumyang jiri) texts, and in the reform of rituals, and was in charge of editing the Veritable Records of King Yejong.

Having attached himself to Yi Ja-gyeom, he was impeached when Yi Ja-gyeom fell in 1126 and was exiled to Uljin. He was later moved to Muan, where he passed away.
