Queen Jeongsun, née Song (1440-1521), was the principal consort of King Danjong, sixth ruler of Joseon. Her father was Prince Yeoryang Song Hyeon-su, her mother was Lady Yeoheung of the Yeoheung Min clan, and her clan seat was Yeosan. She was chosen as queen in the first lunar month of 1454 at the age of 14 and married Danjong.
When Danjong retired as retired king in 1455 and was demoted to Prince Nosan and exiled to Yeongwol in 1457, the queen was likewise demoted to Princess Consort Nosan. Her father was executed and Danjong died the same year, and she is said to have spent her life weeping toward Yeongwol and praying for her husband. King Sejo is said to have sent her to Jeongeobwon, where palace women who had lost their husbands lived out their lives, with an order that no one was to molest her.
She died at 81 in the sixth lunar month of 1521. In 1698 (Sukjong 24) she was restored as queen together with Danjong and given the title Jeongsun (定順); her tomb is called Sareung (思陵), a name explained as expressing longing for her wrongly killed husband.
Queen Jeongsun is said to have climbed the hill east of Hanyang to gaze toward Yeongwol in longing for Danjong, and the peak is called Dongmangbong. King Yeongjo had the characters "Dongmangbong" carved on the rock, but it was broken when the place was used as a quarry under Japanese rule; today a pavilion called Dongmangjeong stands to its south.
She is enshrined at Sareung in Sanneung-ri, Jingeon-eup, Namyangju, Gyeonggi.
