Yi Yong-sang (Ly Long Tuong) is said to have been a prince of Vietnam's Ly dynasty who fled by sea during the Tran takeover and reached Hwasan in Ongjin, Hwanghae, in Goryeo. King Gojong is said to have made him Lord of Hwasan, and he is honored as the mid-line ancestor of the Hwasan Yi clan.
His birth is often given as 1174, but his death year is uncertain. The story rests mainly on the genealogy; the Goryeosa has no corresponding record, and some scholars consider it hard to verify.
