Maternal grandfather of Yi Hwang (Toegye); styled Sajeong-gong

Bak Chi is a Chuncheon Park figure presented as the maternal grandfather of Yi Hwang (Toegye, 1501-1570). Wikipedia's Yi Hwang entry says that Jinsa Yi Sik, after the death of his first wife of the Munso Kim clan, remarried the eldest daughter of Bak Chi of the Chuncheon Park clan, and Yi Hwang was born as the youngest son. Yi Sik died seven months after Yi Hwang's birth, and the boy grew up under his mother's teaching.
A Gangwon Domin Ilbo article writes Yi Hwang's mother as a granddaughter (oe-son-nyeo) of Sajeong-gong Chi (治), a fifth-generation descendant of Bak Hang, which differs by one generation from the 'daughter' account. The writing of his name also varies by source, so his hanja could not be confirmed.
Chuncheon has a district named Toegye-dong and the tie to Yi Hwang's maternal home is told, but accounts of whether the place name derives from his pen name differ and were not confirmed. Yi Hwang himself belonged to the Jinseong Yi clan and is not linked here to avoid confusion with same-named entries of other seats.
Yi Hwang's mother is described as a Chuncheon Park who entered Yi Sik's household as his second wife; he grew up under her teaching.
The article places the maternal home around today's Toegye-dong; the origin of the stream's name and the creek anecdotes are tradition.
