Seolheon line, Seolgok line

Seolheon line (雪軒系)

The Seolheon line descends from Jeong O (鄭䫨, pen name Seolheon) of the seventh generation of the Cheongju Jeong. A grandson of the chancellery minister Jeong Hae and son of Jeong Chaek, minister of the Board of Census, he became a first-class merit subject under King Gongmin, rose to deliberative councillor and was enfeoffed as Prince of Seowon.

With his younger brother Jeong Po he inherited farmland in Andong, their mother's home, and moved to Hoegok-ri in Pungsan, becoming the first Cheongju Jeong settler in Andong. The line divides into several branches, including the Noksa-gong and Woncheon branches, and Jeong Tak (鄭琢, pen name Yakpo), left state councillor under King Seonjo, is counted among its members.

Seolgok line (雪谷系)

The Seolgok line descends from Jeong Po (鄭誧, pen name Seolgok), the younger brother of Jeong O. A disciple of Choe Hae who associated with Yi Gok, he excelled in poetry and calligraphy, and his poetry collection Seolgok sigo is designated a national Treasure.

Through his son Jeong Chu (鄭樞), his grandsons included the Joseon foundation merit subjects Jeong Chong (鄭摠) and Jeong Tak (鄭擢), and the royal-escort merit subject Jeong Gon-su (鄭崑壽) and the scholar Jeong Gu (鄭逑, pen name Hangang) also belong to this line. It divides into the Ongjin, Chungok and Sukcheon branches, among others.
