Seondanyang line (先丹陽系)

The Seondanyang (earlier Danyang) line takes Jang Sun-ik (張順翼) as its founder. He was a son of Jang Ji-hyeon (張之賢), great-grandson of Jang Jeong-pil (張貞弼), the common ancestor of the Jang clans; tradition holds that he served as chief chancellor (munha sijung) in Goryeo and was enfeoffed as Lord Danyang (丹陽君), so his descendants took Danyang as their seat.

Hudanyang line (後丹陽系)

The Hudanyang (later Danyang) line takes as its founder Jang Mu-yong (張戊用), son of Jang Sa (張楒) of the Gyeolseong Jang clan, 14th-generation descendant of Jang Jeong-pil, who was enfeoffed as Prince Gyeolseong (結城府院君). Some records treat both Jang Sa's second son Jang Gap-yong (張甲用) and third son Jang Mu-yong as founders of the line.

Although it shares Danyang as its seat, its lineage is separate from the Seondanyang line.
