Munyang-gong-pa, Injae-gong-pa, Yanggyeong-gong-pa
The Munyang-gong branch descends from Yi Jong-deok (李種德), eldest son of Mogeun Yi Saek (李穡), who served as a privy councillor (jimiljiksasa). The Hansan Yi clan divided into three main branches among Yi Saek's three sons.
In the 9th generation this line split into the Sayun-gong (Yi Maeng-yu), Munhye-gong (Yi Maeng-gyun), Jeongeon-gong (Yi Maeng-jun) and Panjungchu-gong (Yi Maeng-jin) branches. Munhye-gong Yi Maeng-gyun (李孟畇, 1371-1440) served as minister of personnel and chief scholar.
The Injae-gong branch descends from Yi Jong-hak (李種學, 1361-1392), second son of Yi Saek. Known by the pen name Injae (麟齋), he served as associate examiner in 1389, was exiled when his father was impeached under King Gongyang, and died in 1392, the year Joseon was founded.
His writings survive as the Injae yugo.
The Yanggyeong-gong branch descends from Yi Jong-seon (李種善), third son of Yi Saek and a privy councillor (jungchuwonsa), whose wife was a daughter of Yangchon Gwon Geun. In the 9th generation it split into the Jeongnang-gong (Yi Gye-ju), Gongmu-gong (Yi Gye-rin), Munyeol-gong (Yi Gye-jeon) and Gamchal-gong (Yi Gye-won) branches.
Yi Gae (李塏), one of the Six Martyred Ministers, was Yi Gye-ju's son, and the descendants of the merit subject Yi Gye-jeon (李季甸, 1404-1459) include Tojeong Yi Ji-ham (李之菡), associated with the Tojeong bigyeol, and Agye Yi San-hae (李山海), three times chief state councillor.
