The Jeonju Park clan (全州 朴氏) takes Jeonju, North Jeolla, as its seat. Park genealogical tradition says King Gyeongmyeong's eight sons were enfeoffed in various places and became founders of different Park seats, and some accounts trace the Jeonju Park to Prince Wansan Park Eon-hwa. The Miryang Park genealogy of 1662 (Sungjeong Imin-bo) is reported to name Prince Wansan as founder of the Jeonju Park. The Muan Park clan is also said to descend from the Wansan line, so the two are presented as genealogically entangled. This is genealogical tradition, not an established historical fact.
Namuwiki gives 1,985 for 2015, calling it a rare seat of under 2,000, with one civil and twenty-five military examination graduates in Joseon, a relatively large number of military ones.
The founder's actual name, branches and branch founders, home regions, clan association, generation names and individual notables were not found in public sources. To avoid filling gaps with unverified claims, no branch or person cards are given. Please check the clan's own genealogy.
A tradition holds that the Jeonju Park descends from Prince Wansan Park Eon-hwa, sixth son of King Gyeongmyeong. The eight-princes account is a tradition in Park genealogies, and some seats such as the Bannam Park do not accept it. Jeonju is dominated by the Jeonju Yi clan, so take care not to confuse them.
