The Samcheok Park clan (三陟 朴氏) honors Silla's founding king Park Hyeokgeose as its distant progenitor and takes Bak Won-gyeong (朴元慶) as its founding ancestor; he is said to have served Goryeo as a left vice-minister (sangseo jwa bokya) and been enfeoffed as Prince Samcheok. He is described as a descendant of King Gyeongmyeong of Silla, and family tradition places the line under Bak Eon-sin, the third of the eight princes, also claimed as ancestor by the Hamyang Park. The ancestry before Bak Won-gyeong and exact generation counts are not confirmed in public sources.
By family tradition the clan belongs to the lineage of Bak Eon-sin, Prince Sokham, together with Hamyang and Gunwi Park. This is a genealogical tradition rather than documented history, and some Park clans, such as Bannam, do not accept the eight-prince account.
The 2015 census counted about 5,776 members. The life dates (1353-1426) and Gaeseong magistrate career given for the later ancestor Bak Won-gyeong come from clan tradition and could not be cross-checked; settlements, branches, generation names and a clan association are not confirmed in public sources.
Apart from the founder, no well-documented historical figures were found in public sources. This page records only what could be verified and will be extended as information becomes available.
The 삼척 박씨 clan association can be found in the Korean E-Jokbo Library clan-association directory.
