Jwayun-gong-pa, Chalbang-gong-pa
The Jwayun-gong branch descends from Cheon Sang (千祥), eldest son of the mid-founder Cheon Man-ri (千萬里). He came from Ming China with his father during the Imjin War, distinguished himself in battle, settled in Joseon after the war, and rose to deputy mayor of Hanseong (hanseongbu jwayun).
His descendants divided into sub-branches including the Cheosa-gong, Seonjeon-gong, Jeongnang-gong, Tongdeongnang-gong and Songam-gong lines.
The Chalbang-gong branch descends from Cheon Hui (千禧), second son of Cheon Man-ri. He settled in Joseon together with his father and elder brother and was appointed post-station superintendent (chalbang) of Pyeonggu.
His sons Cheon Geo-ju and Cheon Ja-ju served as magistrates of Yeongwol and Iwon, and his descendants divided into sub-branches including the Yeongjang-gong, Gunsu-gong, Hyeongam-gong and Gamyeok-gong lines.
