Gil Hoe (1549-1593) was a civil official under King Seonjo from the Haepyeong Gil clan. He passed the licentiate examination in 1570 and the Alseong civil examination in 1577 in the third class, and is said to have served as Reviser in the Office of Royal Decrees and magistrate of Sinchang.
When the Imjin War broke out in 1592 he accompanied King Seonjo in flight as a Vice-Director of the Ministry of War, and later held posts such as Gyori of the Seungmunwon, Heonnap and Jikgang. He died in 1593 during the war.
In 1603 he is said to have been posthumously named a first-class Wonjong merit subject. His generational relation to Gil Jae, courtesy and pen names and tomb were not confirmed here, and the above rests mainly on wiki-type sources, so it needs cross-checking against the Haepyeong Gil genealogy.
