Jeon Baek-yeong (1345-1412) was a late-Goryeo and early-Joseon civil official of Oksan (Gyeongsan), a 6th-generation descendant of the clan founder Jeon Yeong-ryeong. His pen name was Pagye (巴溪) and his posthumous title Munpyeong (文平).
Wikipedia says he passed the civil examination in 1371; under King U of Goryeo he impeached Yi In-im as a remonstrance official and was demoted and exiled to Hadong. In Joseon he served as Ganui Daebu, Gyeongsang Provincial Judge, Byeongjo Jeonseo, Inspector-General (1399), Minister of Rites, Governor of Gyeonggi and Jiuijeongbu-sa, went to Ming China as a New Year envoy in 1404, and was recorded as an upright official.
Under King U of Goryeo he is said to have impeached the powerful official Yi In-im and been demoted and exiled to Hadong in South Gyeongsang. Wikipedia dates his examination success to 1371.
After Joseon was founded he served as Ganui Daebu, Gyeongsang Provincial Judge, Byeongjo Jeonseo, Inspector-General, Minister of Rites, Governor of Gyeonggi and Jiuijeongbu-sa, and in 1404 went to Ming China as a New Year envoy. He was recorded among upright officials. Some introductions say he was Minister of Rites under King Taejong.
Bakgok Seodang in Sangwon-ri, Gachang-myeon, Daegu, is a lodge and school in his memory. It is said to have been built with timber from Hancheon Seowon (said to have honored the brothers Jeon I-gap and Jeon Ui-gap), demolished under the Daewongun's seowon abolition, and moved to its present site after a fire. Mumudongjae in Pa-dong, Suseong-gu, honors his 5th-generation descendant Jeon Gyeong-chang. For the founder Jeon Yeong-ryeong and the relation to Jeongseon, see the Gyeongsan Jeon page.
His tomb is at Naesangwon, Sangwon-ri, Gachang-myeon, Dalseong County, Daegu. The lodge built beside it developed into Bakgok Seodang, and a spirit-path stele was erected in 1984.
His 5th-generation descendant Jeon Gyeong-chang served as Jeongeon and Jipyeong under Seonjo; the head of the Munpyeong line is said to live at the Oksan old house near Bakgok Seodang.
