Ryu Seong-won was a scholar of the Hall of Worthies under Sejong who is said to have been among the Six Martyred Ministers killed in 1456 after the plot to restore King Danjong was exposed. His pen name was Nanggan, and he is presented as belonging to the (Jungmun) Jihusa-gong branch.
