Sin Yun-mu (辛允武, d. 1513) was an early Joseon military official of the Yeongwol Shin clan. A son of Sin Suk-geo of the Buwongun branch, he and his elder brother Sin Yun-mun both became merit subjects of the 1506 coup that enthroned King Jungjong. His birth year is unknown.
Under Prince Yeonsan he served as a royal guard officer and as assistant magistrate of Uiju. In 1506, as deputy director of the military supply office, he joined Bak Won-jong, Seong Hui-an and Yu Sun-jeong in deposing the king. On the day of the coup Bak Won-jong had Sin Yun-mu and Yi Chim kill the Left State Councillor Sin Su-geun, who had refused to join, at Sugak Bridge, and the plotters also eliminated Im Sa-hong. When Grand Prince Jinseong took the throne as Jungjong, Sin Yun-mu was named a first-rank Jeongguk merit subject and Prince Yeongcheon; according to the Encyclopedia of Korean Culture, only five men, Yu Ja-gwang, Sin Yun-mu, Bak Yeong-mun, Jang Jeong and Hong Gyeong-ju, were originally placed in the first rank.
He went on to serve as military commander of North Hamgyeong, became Minister of Works in 1508, then Second and Third State Councillor, and finally Minister of War, but was dismissed after objections from civil officials. A Segye Ilbo clan series says he also reached the post of Left Associate Councillor.
In 1513 a government slave named Jeong Mak-gae reported that Bak Yeong-mun, recently impeached as Minister of Works, had been visiting Sin Yun-mu's house and slandering the court. Both men were executed for high treason and stripped of their merit titles. Prince Yeongsan, a son of King Seongjong, was banished in connection with the case and pardoned only in 1527. Officials such as Gwon Beol later argued that Jeong Mak-gae should lose his promoted rank for not reporting sooner, and the Segye series describes the case as a false accusation, so judgments of it differ.
According to the Gangneung local encyclopedia, his father's cousin Sin Ju, a former magistrate of Goseong, fled to Eoheul-ri in Gangneung for fear of being implicated, beginning the Gangneung line of the clan.
His father's cousin Sin Ju moved to Eoheul-ri, Gangneung, founding the clan's Gangneung line.
