Queen Wonmok (d. 1057) was the sixth consort of King Hyeonjong. Of the Icheon Seo clan, she was the daughter of Seo Nul and granddaughter of Seo Hui, famed for his talks with the Khitan. She was made Sukbi in 1022 (Hyeonjong 13) and titled Lady Heungseong.
She died in the fifth lunar month of 1057 (Munjong 11) and her posthumous title was Wonmok. Wikipedia says that, because she had no son, Munjong did not wear mourning, no tomb name was granted and no New Year rite was held; she was cremated. Some texts call her the mother of Deokjong and Jeongjong, which appears to confuse her with another consort and does not match Wikipedia.
Though she left no heir, she is often cited as proof that the Icheon Seo, from Seo Pil through Seo Hui to Seo Nul, were a top Goryeo house linked to royalty by marriage.
King Hyeonjong (r. 1009-1031) repelled two Khitan invasions. Marrying the granddaughter of Seo Hui honored a family that had protected the state by diplomacy and tied the aristocracy to the royal house.
Lady Wonmok, made Sukbi in 1022, is not known for political activity, but her father Seo Nul's rise to posts such as Jungchusa and Munha-sirang is explained partly by his standing as a royal in-law.
