Mansa-gong-pa (晩沙公派)

The Mansa-gong branch is said to take its name from Mansa (晩沙), the pen name of Seo Gyeong-u (徐景雨, 1573-1645), a son of Seo Seong (徐渻, pen name Yakbong) who served as right state councillor under King Injo.

Seo Seong, a great-great-grandson of Eonyang magistrate Seo Geo-gwang (徐居廣), was posthumously named chief state councillor, and his descendants formed the most prosperous lines of the Daegu Seo.

Dowi-gong-pa (都尉公派)

The 'dowi' (都尉) in the Dowi-gong branch name is the title given to royal sons-in-law, and the branch is known as the line of Seo Gyeong-ju (徐景霌, 1579-1643), a son of Seo Seong who married Princess Jeongsin, a daughter of King Seonjo, and was titled Dalseong-wi.

His son Seo Jeong-ri became minister of rites, and his line is said to have produced three successive generations of state councillors: Seo Jong-tae, Seo Myeong-gyun and Seo Ji-su.

Saga-gong-pa (四佳公派)

The Saga-gong branch is said to take its name from Saga (四佳), the pen name of Seo Geo-jeong (徐居正), the great early-Joseon man of letters.

Seo Geo-jeong served six kings, held the post of chief academician for many years and took part in compiling the Gyeongguk daejeon and Dongguk tonggam; he is regarded as the most representative figure of the Daegu Seo.
