Daejehak-gong-pa, Yean-gun-pa, Anjeong-gong-pa, Jibui-gong-pa, Panseo-gong-pa, Jeongpyeong-gong-pa, Munsuk-gong-pa
The Daejehak-gong branch descends from U Hong-su (禹洪壽, 1355-1392), eldest son of U Hyeon-bo (禹玄寶), Prince Danyang. After passing the civil examination in 1377 he served as royal secretary (jisinsa) and Inspector-General, then as Associate and Second Commissioner of the Privy Council.
In 1392 he was dismissed as a member of Jeong Mong-ju's faction; after the founding of Joseon he was exiled to Jeolla Province and died there after being flogged.
The Yean-gun branch descends from U Hong-bu (禹洪富), Prince Yean (禮安君). He was a son of U Hyeon-bo, who served as Superintendent of the Three Offices (pansamsasa) in late Goryeo and was made Prince Danyang; together with his brothers U Hong-su, U Hong-gang, U Hong-deuk and U Hong-myeong, his line forms one of the principal Danyang U branches.
The Anjeong-gong branch descends from U Hong-gang (禹洪康, 1357-1423), a son of U Hyeon-bo. Passing the examination in 1378, he served under Goryeo as remonstrator and provincial inspector; after the founding of Joseon he was Left Remonstrator, magistrate of Chungju and Cheongju, councillor of the Ministries of Rites and Personnel, Mayor of Hanseong and Governor of Gangwon Province.
In 1421 he became Magistrate of Gaeseong; his posthumous title is Anjeong (安靖).
The Jibui-gong branch descends from U Hong-deuk (禹洪得), third son of U Hyeon-bo. When Goryeo loyalists were punished around the founding of Joseon he was exiled to Gangwon Province and is said to have been beaten to death, as were his elder brother U Hong-su and younger brother U Hong-myeong.
The Panseo-gong branch descends from U Hong-myeong (禹洪命), youngest son of U Hyeon-bo. After the founding of Joseon he was exiled to Jeolla Province, where he is said to have died along with his elder brother U Hong-su.
The Jeongpyeong-gong branch descends from U In-yeol (禹仁烈, 1337-1403), a military official of late Goryeo and early Joseon and 10th-generation descendant of the founder U Hyeon. For repelling the Red Turbans and Japanese pirates he rose to Associate Chancellor (munha chanseongsa).
From 1377 he fought pirates as commander of Gyeongsang Province and inspector-general of three provinces; he was enrolled as an Original Merit Subject of the dynastic founding and rose through Superintendent of the Three Offices to honorary Left State Councillor. His posthumous title is Jeongpyeong (靖平).
The Munsuk-gong branch descends from U Hui-yeol (禹希烈, 1354-1420), an early Joseon civil official and second son of U Bok-saeng (禹福生). Under King Taejong he served as Minister of Taxation and magistrate of Wonju, then as Governor of Chungcheong and Gyeonggi Provinces and magistrate of Gwangju and Cheongju.
Wherever he served he left achievements in agriculture and irrigation, such as repairing reservoirs, and King Sejong is said to have praised his work after his death.
