Hoan-gong-pa (胡安公派)

The Hoan-gong branch descends from Hwang Chi-sin (黃致身, 1397-1484), eldest son of Chief State Councillor Hwang Hui (黃喜). Entering office through protected appointment, he served as royal secretary, councillor of Rites, Mayor of Hanseong and Governor of Gyeonggi, became Minister of Taxation in 1444, and later Superintendent of the Privy Council.

He was posthumously made Right State Councillor, with the posthumous title Hoan (胡安). It is the senior of the four Jangsu Hwang branches that divide among Hwang Hui's four sons.

Yeolseong-gong-pa (烈成公派)

The Yeolseong-gong branch descends from Hwang Su-sin (黃守身, 1407-1467), third son of Hwang Hui. Supporting the Gyeyu coup, he became a Jwaik merit subject and Prince Namwon (Namwon Buwongun), and rose through Right and Left State Councillor to Chief State Councillor in 1467, so that father and son both held the highest office.

He is noted as one of the few to become a state councillor without passing the civil examination, and by royal order he directed the vernacular translation of the Lotus Sutra. His posthumous title is Yeolseong (烈成).

Sajik-gong-pa (司直公派)

The Sajik-gong branch descends from Hwang Jik-sin (黃直身), Hwang Hui's fourth son, who served as sajik (a military rank). His son Hwang Sam-oe (黃三畏) is recorded.
