Jeonseo-gong-pa, Nangjang-gong-pa, Anseong-gong-pa, Songjeong-gong-pa, Chamui-gong-pa
The Jeonseo-gong branch descends from Song Gwang-u (宋匡祐), who held the rank of Bongik daebu and served as minister of revenue (hojo jeonseo) in late Goryeo. A seventh-generation descendant of Song In (宋仁), whom the Jincheon Song clan counts as its first generation, he was a son of Song So (宋玿), a privy councillor (pyeongni).
It is listed first among the clan's five branches. The genealogy of 1799 records his grave at Baekchul-dong in Jincheon, but it is said to have since been lost.
The Nangjang-gong branch descends from Song Gwang-do (宋匡度), who served as a junior general (nangjang) of the Jeongyong guard in late Goryeo. A seventh-generation descendant of Song In and a son of the privy councillor Song So, he was a brother of Song Gwang-u, founder of the Jeonseo-gong branch.
He was honored with a memorial gate for his devotion to his parents. The gate originally stood below his grave at Sanjeong-ri, Jincheon, but was destroyed in 1636, after which his descendants moved it to Duseong-ri, Maengdong-myeon, Eumseong County, North Chungcheong. His wife, Lady Heo, was also known as a filial daughter-in-law for caring devotedly for her mother-in-law.
The Anseong-gong branch descends from Song Gwang-bo (宋匡輔, pen name Jukgye), who served as magistrate of Anseong (ji Anseong gunsa) with the rank of Josan daebu. A seventh-generation descendant of Song In and third son of the privy councillor Song So, he is said to have passed the civil examination under King Gongmin of Goryeo.
The branch takes its name from his post as magistrate of Anseong and is listed third among the clan's five branches.
The Songjeong-gong branch descends from Song U (宋愚, pen name Songjeong) and is listed fourth among the clan's five branches. A seventh-generation descendant of Song In and son of Song Rim, a bureau director (seoryeong), he is said to have been born in 1354 under King Gongmin of Goryeo and to have lived to 73, into the reign of King Sejong.
Holding the rank of Gaseon daebu, he served as magistrate of Anbyeon and as third minister of rites.
The Chamui-gong branch descends from Song Myeong-go (宋命古), who held the rank of Tongjeong daebu; counting Song In as the first generation, he belongs to the tenth. Said to be a grandson of the county magistrate Song Myeon (宋勉), he founded the last of the clan's five branches, which split off later than the other four branches of the eighth generation.
