Vice-minister of Military Affairs of the family tradition of integrity; died with his son in the Imjin War
| Life | 1592 |

| Clan | 광주 안씨 |
An Sa-ung (安士雄) was a mid-Joseon civil official from Gwangju, courtesy name Wibaek. A great-grandson of the magistrate An Geuk-byeon, he was the grandson of An Yun-son and the son of An Ja-heum.
He passed the licentiate exam in 1522 and a special civil examination in 1546, and rose through remonstrator and executive posts to vice-minister of Military Affairs.
When his brothers died young he raised their children with his own and married off his nephews and nieces first, earning praise. As a descendant of the incorruptible An Seong he kept the family tradition and stayed poor; as a royal secretary he commuted from Wangsimni and was often late, so the king granted him a house on Naksan. He died with his son in the Imjin War of 1592.
Marriages were weighty family events in Joseon, and caring for nephews before one's own children was not easy. The Encyclopedia records that An raised the children of his early-dead brothers and married them first, which earned him praise. It is part of why he was remembered as a man who kept family duty even in poverty.
True to a family of incorruptible officials he was not rich. As a royal secretary he lived far away at Wangsimni and was often late, and the king who heard of it granted him a house on Naksan. The entry does not say which king. He was also a descendant of a censorial family through his great-grandfather An Geuk-byeon and grandfather An Yun-son.
He is recorded as dying with his son in the 1592 Imjin War, though the place and circumstances are not given. In the same war his kinsmen An Hwang escorted the king and An Min-hak raised troops.
The location of his grave was not confirmed.
