Founding ancestor of the Gyeongju Bae clan; first-class founding merit subject of Goryeo (Gaeguk Muyeol-gong)

Bae Hyeon-gyeong (裵玄慶, ?–936) is the founding ancestor of the Gyeongju Bae clan and a founding merit subject of Goryeo. His original name was Baek Ok-sam (白玉衫), but he was granted the surname Bae (裵) by King Taejo Wang Geon of Goryeo.
Together with Hong Yu, Sin Sung-gyeom, and Bok Ji-gyeom, he drove out Gung Ye and enthroned Wang Geon as king, becoming a first-class founding merit subject who established Goryeo, and he was greatly active in aiding Taejo in the unification of the Later Three Kingdoms. His posthumous title was Muyeol (武烈). Several Bae clan lineages branched off from his descendants.
From the four sons of his great-great-grandson Bae Sa-hyeok branched the Bunseong, Seongsan, Dalseong, and Heunghae Bae clans.
