Jita (祗沱, 只他) is the figure venerated as the surname-founding ancestor (deukseongjo) of the Bae (裵) clan. As chief of Geumsan Gari village (金山加利村), one of the Six Villages of Saro before the founding of Silla, he was a founding meritorious figure of Silla who, together with the other village chiefs, enthroned Bak Hyeokgeose.
In the year 32 (9th year of King Yuri of Silla), the Gari district (加利部) of Geumsan Gari village was renamed Hanji district (漢祗部), and he is said to have been granted the surname Bae (裵). Later the lineage was lost, so each Bae clan traces its ancestry to a different founding ancestor.
As the lineage was later lost, each Bae clan traces its ancestry to a different founding ancestor.
