Life & career

Park Do-sang led a tenant-farmer protest march in Yeongam and was arrested.

In June 1932 he led about 70 young people in a May Day gathering at Hyeongjebong in Deokjin-myeon, Yeongam County, protesting the exploitation of farmers by Japanese landlords. The demonstrators marched behind a red flag singing labor songs and confronted the household of a tenant whose farming rights had been unjustly transferred, for which he was arrested and imprisoned. He was posthumously awarded a Presidential Citation in 2021.
