Bak Eon-chim (朴彦忱) is the founding ancestor of the Miryang Bak clan, and was Grand Prince Milseong (密城大君), the eldest son of King Gyeongmyeong of Silla. The Bak clans take Bak Hyeokgeose, who founded Silla, as their common progenitor (do-sijo), and among his descendants the several sons of King Gyeongmyeong became the restoring ancestors of Bak clans of various ancestral seats.
When Bak Eon-chim received Milseong (Miryang) as his fief and was enfeoffed as Grand Prince Milseong, his descendants took Miryang as their ancestral seat. The Miryang Bak clan is the most populous ancestral seat among the Bak clans.
His descendants took Miryang as their ancestral seat and flourished greatly.
