Founding ancestor of the Miryang Bak clan (Grand Prince Milseong, son of King Gyeongmyeong of Silla)

Bak Eon-chim, eldest son of Silla's King Gyeongmyeong, is honored as the founding ancestor of the Miryang Bak clan, having received Miryang (then called Miseong) as his fief and title. His son Bak Uk went on to serve at the Goryeo court, rising to the rank of grand general, opening the way for later generations to hold court office.
With roughly 3.1 million members as of the 2015 census, the Miryang Bak is by far the most populous branch of the Bak surname.
His descendants took Miryang as their ancestral seat and flourished greatly.
