Jeon Mong-seong (1561-1597) was a military official from Yeongam, South Jeolla, of the Cheonan Jeon clan. He fought at the Battle of Geumsan in the Imjin War and, in the 1597 renewed invasion, raised a righteous army with his younger brother Jeon Mong-jin and died in battle.
At Jangcheon-ri, Seoho-myeon, Yeongam stands the "Jeon Chunghyo-mun" (a South Jeolla Provincial Monument) honoring the brothers' loyalty and the filial devotion of the youngest, Jeon Mong-tae, with spirit-path steles for Jeon Mong-seong and Jeon Mong-tae beside it.

Eomgil-ri and Jangcheon-ri in Seoho-myeon, Yeongam, are described as the main settlements of the Yeongam line of the Dupyeong-gun branch. A Gangjin newspaper says he drove off Japanese troops together with the righteous-army leader Kim Deok-ran at Bamjae pass in Seongjeon-myeon.
