Kim Bing (courtesy name Gyeongjung) is introduced as a ninth-generation descendant of Kim Won-deung in the Jeonjik-gong branch. He passed the 1580 special civil examination and served as Yijo and Hyeongjo jwarang and Hongmungwan gyori.
In 1590 he served as interrogator at the posthumous punishment of Jeong Yeo-rip; his wiping of tears, caused by an eye ailment, was reportedly taken as grief for the dead man, and on a false accusation by Baek Yu-ham he is said to have been beaten to death. He was rehabilitated in 1624. His father was Kim Ik-han.
