Namgung Jip (courtesy name Gangjung, pen name Samjoljae) was a son of Namgung Yul and the elder brother of Namgung Ok. He passed the licentiate exam in 1618 and the civil examination with top-tier honors in 1630.
He served as inspector-general and censor-general under Injo and Hyojong. In 1660 he submitted a memorial on factions, criticizing how the Easterner and Westerner groups had split into many strands and distorted even recommendations of talent, and urged appointing fair-minded people. His writings survive as Samjolwa yugo. He died in 1668.
