Park Ja-cheong was an early-Joseon military officer who, after serving as a palace attendant and as a rank-4 and rank-3 officer, is said to have risen to Panugun Dochongjebusa. He is known for supervising or taking part in major building and engineering works of the period, including the Munmyo shrine at Sungkyunkwan, Geonwonneung tomb, Gyeonghoeru pavilion and the Gaecheon (Cheonggyecheon) stream works.
His posthumous title is Ikwi (翼魏), and he is listed as a member of the Yeonghae Park clan, a clan known more for military and technical posts than for civil-examination graduates.
