Park Ryeong (朴齡, ?-1434), courtesy name Ho-bu, was an early-Joseon official whose registered home is recorded as Uichang, the old name of Changwon, in Gyeongsang Province. Beginning in 1398 as military commander of Gangju and magistrate of Ganghwa, he went on to serve as commander of Gangye, military commissioner of Gyeongwon and Sakju, magistrate of Hongju, and in 1419 as military commander of Hwanghae and magistrate of Haeju. In 1421 he became Chief Commander of the Left Army and went to Ming China as an envoy of thanks.
When King Sejong toured Haeju he is said to have had Park sit above the provincial governor because he was an old retainer, and he is described as frugal and skilled in martial arts. When he died in 1434 court assemblies and markets were suspended for a day, and his posthumous title is Yangjeong. Wikipedia presents him as the ancestral-seat founder of the Changwon Park clan.
