Early Joseon civil official who served as Chief State Councillor during the reigns of King Sejo and King Yejong

Park Won-hyeong (1411-1469) was an early Joseon-dynasty civil official of the Jugsan Park clan. He passed the samasi examination in 1432 and the alseong civil service examination in 1434, beginning his career in offices such as the Yebinsi and Bokgeoksi before rising through several ministries to the posts of Second and Chief State Councillor.
For supporting King Sejo's accession to the throne he was ranked a third-class Merit Subject of Assistance, and he later served as an envoy of gratitude to Ming China. After helping suppress the Yi Si-ae Rebellion he advanced through the offices of Right and Left State Councillor, becoming Chief State Councillor (Yeonguijeong) in 1468 following King Yejong's accession. His posthumous title was Munheon. His line continued through his son Park An-seong and grandson Park Su-mun.
He had a son, Park An-seong, and his grandson Park Su-mun served as Jwachanseong during King Jungjong's reign.
