Life & career

Yang Jae-bong (1925-2010), born in Naju, South Jeolla, was a financier and honorary chairman of Daishin Securities and Daishin Group. A graduate of Mokpo Commercial High School, he joined the Bank of Chosun, founded Daehan Investment Finance in 1973, and is said to have laid the foundation of today's Daishin Securities by acquiring Jungbo Securities.

He is recorded as the first Honam-born businessman to donate a scholarship (600 million won) to a university in the Yeongnam region. His grandson Yang Hong-seok is involved in running the group.
