An Sang-ho (安商浩, 1872–1927) was a physician from Seoul who, in 1902, graduated with high marks from the Tokyo Jikei Medical School and became the first Korean to obtain a Japanese medical license. He returned to Korea in 1904 and was appointed personal physician to Emperor Sunjong, and was also close with Crown Prince Ui.
Pro-Japanese controversy He has been the subject of pro-Japanese controversy for activities such as being listed in 1916 as a councilor of the pro-Japanese Daejeong Industrial Friendship Society. However, the Institute for Research in Collaborationist Activities has stated that, based on the evidence available when it compiled the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Biography in 2009, his documented activities fell short of the dictionary's inclusion criteria, and the compilation committee accordingly withheld his entry — while noting that this exclusion does not mean he had no pro-Japanese activities.
