An Ja-mi (安子美) is the founding ancestor of the Sunheung An clan. He is said to have served as Bosung Byeoljang of the Heungwi Guard (興威衛保勝別將) during the Goryeo period, and having settled at Sunheung (順興) in North Gyeongsang Province, his descendants took Sunheung as their ancestral seat.
His great-grandson was An Hyang (安珦), Duke Munseong, who first introduced Neo-Confucianism (the learning of Zhu Xi) to Korea, providing the basis for the Sunheung An clan to win renown as a distinguished family of scholarship.
