Eom Heun (嚴昕, 1508-1543) was a Jungjong-era official of the Yeongwol clan, with courtesy name Gye-so (啓昭) and pen name Sipseongdang (十省堂). He became a saengwon in 1525 and in 1528, aged 21, passed the regular civil examination in the top class and became a Jeongja of the Hongmungwan, and was chosen for the Hodang reading leave. He then served as Jeojak, Busuchan (1530) and Suchan (1531) and as a Personnel Board Jwarang, became Jeonhan of the Hongmungwan in 1541 and Chamgyo of the Seungmunwon in 1542.
He proposed opening channels of remonstrance and ending the suppression of censors, and in 1541 criticized the practice in lawmaking of the censorate re-submitting a review after already reviewing, pointing to a situation where the censors were treated lightly and the officials lightly regarded themselves. While Chamgyo of the Seungmunwon in 1542 he fell ill with a grave disease and died the next year; the Sarim literati are said to have mourned him.
He was a 6th-generation descendant of Eom Yu-on, and his great-grandfather Eom Song-su was an uncle of Noble Consort Eom of Seongjong. His wife was of the Muan Bak clan, a granddaughter of Minister Bak Ho. His collected works are the Sipseongdang-jip, whose contents could not be confirmed. The Bogya-gong branch has a "Sipseongdang-gong" sub-line with the same name as his pen name, but whether the two are the same line could not be confirmed.
He proposed opening channels of remonstrance and ending suppression of censors. As Jeonhan of the Hongmungwan in 1541 he criticized the repeated review of laws in the lawmaking process. Such statements are read as a young official trying to protect the remonstrance function.
According to the Veritable Records of Jungjong he was exceedingly bright and his writing improved by the day, so he was admired by colleagues. A record that the literati mourned his death shows the regret left by his early death at a young age.
His tomb could not be confirmed.
