Eom Yu-on (嚴有溫, ?-1419) was a founding merit subject of Joseon, of the Yeongwol clan. According to Wikipedia he rose to Gaseon Daebu, became Left Army Vice Commander-in-Chief (Jwagun Dongji Chongje) in 1418, and when he died in 1419 King Sejong gave 70 volumes of paper as funeral aid. His birth year is not recorded.
His father was Eom Jun and his mother a daughter of Jeong Ui-saeng of the Jinju Jeong clan. His son Eom Geuk-in married a Jeonju Choe woman, daughter of Minister of Personnel Choe Bu; grandsons Eom Gang-su, Eom San-su and Eom Song-su and great-grandsons Eom Hun, Eom Hoe and Eom Gye are listed. A great-granddaughter was Noble Consort Eom of Seongjong, and his 6th-generation descendant Eom Heun was a scholar-official who passed the civil examination.
The description as a founding merit subject is Wikipedia's summary, and the exact grade and date of the merit title could not be confirmed here. Whether the "Gongsin-gong" sub-line of the Bogya-gong branch connects to his line also could not be confirmed, so it is not asserted.
When his great-granddaughter Noble Consort Eom became a consort of Seongjong, kin such as Eom Song-su, Eom Hun, Eom Hoe and Eom Gye either entered office or were drawn into events. His 6th-generation descendant Eom Heun passed the civil examination under Jungjong, and Wikipedia says his great-grandfather Eom Song-su was an uncle of the Noble Consort. It is a case where officeholding and royal in-law ties continued in one house.
Even Wikipedia gives neither his birth year nor the grade of his merit title. Please confirm his lineage and branch in the Yeongwol Eom genealogy.
His tomb could not be confirmed.
