Gwon Haeng (權幸) is the founding ancestor of the Andong Gwon clan. Originally a Kim of Silla, he aided King Taejo Wang Geon of Goryeo and defeated Gyeon Hwon of Later Baekje at the Battle of Byeongsan; because he was "able to exercise expedient judgment (gwondo, 權道)," he is said to have been granted the surname Gwon (權).
For that merit he rose to Merit Subject Painted on the Wall of the Three Han, and basing himself at Andong, he is revered together with Kim Seon-pyeong and Jang Jeong-pil as one of the Three Grand Masters (Samtaesa) of Andong. His descendants carried on as the Andong Gwon clan seated at Andong.
His descendants took Andong as their ancestral seat and flourished as a distinguished family.
