Yi Beom-gwan was active during the late Korean Empire and Japanese colonial period. Pro-Japanese activities He served as the Government-General's magistrate of Jincheon County in North Chungcheong Province. For this he is listed as a pro-Japanese collaborator by the government's Commission on Pro-Japanese Collaborator Activities and/or the Dictionary of Pro-Japanese Biography compiled by the Center for Historical Truth and Justice. He was the younger brother of Yi Beom-ik, a pro-Japanese collaborator who served as governor of Gangwon Province.
