Life & career

Yi Jin-eung (1847–1895), from Chuncheon, Gangwon Province, raised a righteous army with his cousin Yi So-eung during the Eulmi Righteous Army uprising, recruiting some 400 Confucian scholars, storming the Chuncheon provincial office and setting up camp on Bonguisan.

He died in battle against government and Japanese forces.
