Life & career

Lee Sin-seong served in the 3rd Detachment of the Korean Liberation Army and its wireless unit for the domestic advance operation.

Born in Jongno, Seoul, in 1922, he traveled to Shanghai, China, in 1940 and enlisted in the Liberation Army's 3rd Detachment at Kaifeng in 1943. In 1945 he was selected as a trainee for the OSS-Liberation Army joint domestic advance operation known as the 'Eagle Project,' receiving special training in intelligence, sabotage and communications at Lihuang, Anhui Province.
