Jang Sin, a younger brother of Jang Yu, died in 1637; his birth year is unknown. He is said to have won a third-class merit title for persuading the Training Commander Yi Heung-rip to join the 1623 Restoration, and as Governor of Hwanghae he repaired Hwangju fortress in 1627. As Ganghwa magistrate during the 1636 Manchu invasion he was responsible for the island's defense; after its fall in 1637 he was held to blame and ordered to take his own life.
