Pastor and independence activist
| Life | 1897 ~ 1944 |
| Era | 일제강점기 |
| Clan | 신안 주씨 |
Ju Gi-cheol (朱基徹, 1897–1944) was a pastor and independence activist from Ungcheon, Jinhae.
Namuwiki records his ancestral seat as the Sinan Ju clan, and he appears in a list of Sinan Ju descendants published by the Shinailbo. His hometown of Ungcheon is where the clan's Ungcheon branch settled.
His specific activities as a pastor and independence activist could not be separately confirmed in this research and are therefore not described here. Ju Gi-yong, a member of the Constituent National Assembly born in the same year (1897), appears in Namuwiki as 30th generation of the Ungcheon branch with the generation character 基.
Namuwiki lists his seat as the Sinan Ju clan, and he is included in the Shinailbo's list of Sinan Ju descendants.
Ungcheon (now part of Jinhae-gu, Changwon) is where the Ungcheon branch of the Sinan Ju clan, which split off in the generation of Ju Yeol's sons, has long lived.
