Joseon official in the censorate under Seonjo, Gwanghaegun and Injo; envoy sent to attend the Ming general Mao Wenlong

Bak Gyeong-eop (朴慶業, born 1568) was a mid-Joseon official of the Goryeong Park clan, first named Bak Seung-eop, with courtesy name Eung-hyu and pen names Amsu and Chutan. A great-grandson of the poet Bak Eun, he was the grandson of Bak In-ryang and son of Bak Mu. His death year is not confirmed.
He passed the 1594 special civil examination in the third tier and held posts such as Inspector-General's investigator and Remonstrance officer. In 1599 he impeached and got the Inspector-General Hong Yeo-sun dismissed for ignoring public opinion, but when Hong was restored he was himself stripped of office together with Kim Sin-guk and Song Il.
Named magistrate of Gangneung in 1613, he was impeached over alleged irregularities in the Gangwon provincial examination, reappointed to the Remonstrance the next year, then sent to Dongnae, where he again faced accusations. After the 1623 coup he was briefly exiled and then reinstated; in 1628, when the Ming general Mao Wenlong camped on Gado island and pressed Korea to attack the Later Jin, he was dispatched as envoy attending the army inspector and later promoted to Second Minister of the Chungchu Office.
He moved between censorate posts as investigator, remonstrance officer and correction officer, pressing impeachments. His 1599 impeachment of Hong Yeo-sun rebounded in his own dismissal, showing the ups and downs of censors amid the factional disputes of Seonjo's later years.
He was impeached again in provincial posts at Gangneung and Dongnae yet returned to office. His 1628 dispatch as envoy attending the army inspector while Mao Wenlong pressed Korea from Gado is recorded in the Veritable Records of Injo, after which he rose to Second Minister of the Chungchu Office.
His burial place is not given in the sources consulted.
No descendants are confirmed in public sources. His line runs Bak Eun, Bak In-ryang, Bak Mu, Bak Gyeong-eop.
