Life & career

Suh Kyung-bae, born in Seoul on 14 January 1963, is a businessman of the Icheon Seo clan and chairman of Amorepacific Group. The second son and youngest of founder Suh Sung-whan's two sons and four daughters, he graduated from Kyungsung High School and Yonsei University's business school and completed the MBA at Cornell.

He joined Taepyeongyang Chemical (now Amorepacific) in 1987 and became representative director and chairman of Amorepacific Group in 2013. His wife is Shin Yun-gyeong, with daughters Seo Min-jeong and Seo Ho-jeong.

As Amorepacific's share price rose he once ranked first among Korea's stock-rich. English Wikipedia's Icheon Seo clan article lists him with Seo Hui as a notable member.

Second-Generation Management and the Icheon Seo

Suh Kyung-bae inherited the company his father built and became chairman of Amorepacific Group in 2013. The Icheon Seo are best known as a Goryeo aristocracy, but in modern times members such as Seo Il, Seo Min-ho, Suh Young-hoon, Suh Sung-whan and Suh Kyung-bae have spread across independence, politics, civil society and industry.
