Song Sun (宋恂, ?-1259) was a Goryeo civil official under King Gojong of the Jincheon Song clan. Wikipedia lists him as a grandson of Song In, while Yongin Sinmun says he was the eldest of Song Won-gyeom's three sons, brother of Song Hui and Song Guk-cheom. The Jincheon encyclopedia entry on Song Eon-gi traces the line from great-grandfather Song In through Song Won-gyeom to Song Sun.
According to Wikipedia he served as Jingang-bu Jeonchom close to Choe Chung-heon early in Gojong's reign and in 1241, as Chamji Jeongsa, presided over the civil examination as Jigonggeo. One clan site says he passed 23 candidates including Choe Jong-gyun, a figure found in only one source. He rose to Munha sirang pyeongjang-sa, was given the added title Su-taewi in 1254, and retired as Jungseo sirang pyeongjang-sa; titles differ by source so both are given.
Yongin Sinmun says he was so learned in ritual precedent that he advised on state ceremonies even after retirement. He lived through the Mongol invasions under military rule; his brother Song Guk-cheom took part in the truce talks and his son Eon-gi made four missions to the Mongols.
Song Sun appears in the Goryeosa biographies with his son. His death in 1259 is recorded but his birth year, grave and descendants were not confirmed here; see volume 102 of the Goryeosa for his official career.
The Jigongeo was the official in charge of the Goryeo civil examinations and served as mentor to the graduates. That Song Sun held it in 1241 shows he was recognized as a leading authority in learning and ritual.
His son was Song Eon-gi.
