Yun Deok-hui (1685-1766) was a late Joseon painter of the Haenam Yun clan, courtesy name Gyeongbaek and pen name Nakseo. His father was the painter Yun Du-seo and his great-great-grandfather Yun Seon-do. Wikipedia gives his death as 1766, while other sources give 1776, so the year differs by source. He held the post of dosa.
Research says he carried on his father's view of painting and family style while adopting the Southern literati manner. He is said to have excelled at horses and immortals, and is sometimes paired with his father as the "two masters", though his brushwork is also judged weak. His known works include "Summer Landscape" and "Lady on Horseback".
Nokudang holds an album of over 70 paintings by Du-seo, Deok-hui and the grandson Yun Yong, and in 2014 the Gwangju National Museum held an exhibition on the three generations for the 300th anniversary of Du-seo's death. One scholarly paper takes Nakseo as its main subject. Although easily overshadowed by his father, he is worth noting as a link in the scholar-painter family; read together with Yun Du-seo.
Research says he continued his father's view of painting while adopting the Southern literati manner. This rests on an abstract and should be rechecked against the works.
The paintings of Yun Du-seo, Deok-hui and Yun Yong survive in the family album. See also the Haenam Yun page.
His tomb was not confirmed.
His son Yun Yong (Cheonggo) also became a painter.
