윤두수 尹斗壽

Life & career
Yun Du-su (尹斗壽, 1533–1601) was a civil official of the mid-Joseon period, from the Haepyeong Yun clan, with the courtesy name Ja-ang and pen name Oeum (梧陰), posthumously titled Munjeong. In 1590 he was ranked second-class Meritorious Subject of National Glorification for his role in resolving the Jonggyebyeonmu dispute and was enfeoffed as Lord Haewon; he was a leading figure of the Westerner faction.
When the Imjin War broke out in 1592, he accompanied King Seonjo as he fled, serving as commander of the royal guard, and was promoted to Third State Councillor that May, then Second State Councillor, and finally Chief State Councillor, being enfeoffed as Prince Haewon. His younger brother Yun Geun-su was likewise a renowned civil official and scholar. He compiled the collected works Oeumyugo as well as the Gijaji and Pyeongyangji.
Descendants
A prestigious family of the Haepyeong Yun clan, whose descendants include Yun Chi-ho, Yun Chi-yeong, and President Yun Bo-seon.
