Life & career

Bae Deok-mun, courtesy name Sukhoe and pen name Seoam, studied Neo-Confucianism under Kim Hui-sam. He served as Magistrate of Eonyang and Mayor of Hanseong, and in the Imjin War is said to have led a righteous army that helped retake Seongju. His son was the naval commander Bae Seol.
