Founding ancestor of the Seongju (Seongsan) Bae clan

Bae Wi-jun was the founding ancestor of the Seongju (Seongsan) Bae clan. He is said to have lived during the Goryeo dynasty, and his descendants settled around Seongju (formerly called Seongsan), which they took as their clan seat.
He reportedly attained the senior first-rank title of samjung daegwang in Goryeo and was named a Byeoksang Merit Subject. His fifth-generation descendant Bae In-gyeong served as a Privy Council minister under King Chungseon of Goryeo and was enfeoffed as Lord of Heungan.
Among his later descendants, the eleventh-generation Bae Geuk-ryeom became a founding Merit Subject of the Joseon dynasty, was enfeoffed as Lord of Seongsan, and rose to the position of Left State Councilor, bringing great distinction to the clan in later generations.
His descendants took Seongju (Seongsan) as their ancestral seat and have maintained the lineage.
