Choe Byeong-jik (崔炳直, 1864-1942) was a late-Joseon civil official born in Ibaek-myeon, Namwon, of the Sangnyeong Choe clan and a 16th-generation descendant of Choe Hang. In 1894 he placed second (bangan) in the last regular civil examination of Joseon.
He served as a Hallim and as jikjang of the Bongsangsi, was appointed secretary-director in 1907, and later served as tutor at the Crown Prince's academy. His wife was from the Changpyeong Go clan and his son was Choe Cheol-u. The dates 1876-1919 in one academic source are regarded as a mix-up with a namesake.
1894 was the year of the last regular civil examination before the system was abolished. The examination date is recorded as the 15th of the fifth month in the Annals and the fourth month in the Gukjo Bangmok, so sources differ.
Tomb not confirmed.
Direct descendants including a son, Choe Cheol-u, are recorded.
