Choe Su-bong (1894–1921), a member of the Righteous Brotherhood (Uiyeoldan), threw two bombs at Miryang Police Station on December 27, 1920, while the station chief was briefing officers on year-end security. The first bomb failed to detonate, but the second exploded; fleeing the scene, he attempted suicide when cornered by police but survived and was captured.
In February 1921 the Busan District Court sentenced him to life imprisonment, but on prosecutorial appeal the Daegu Appellate Court raised the sentence to death that April. After his final appeal to the Gyeongseong High Court was rejected, he was executed at Daegu Prison on July 8, 1921.
